Socially and culturally many of us seem to take the New Year and the winter season as a point to stop and reflect, replenish and be more aware of your directions for the New Year. Staying Healthy with the Season by Elson M. Haas, M.D. 21st Century Edition. Celestial Arts,
Elson Haas, the author is someone I took instruction from at the
This book provides readers with good advice about how to be in balance with nature and ideas about how to be synchronized with the seasons. What I like about this book is that it blends Eastern healing traditions with those of the West. He relates winter to the Chinese Five Element System, provides suggestions for a winter diet, exercise, as well as herbs. In regards to integrative health and wellness I like Dr. Haas' approaches. The chapter on "Feeling Winter" is suggested reading!
May good health and harmony find you all in 2008!
